September McGee is an award winning internationally collected artist and teacher. Born in Boston, she currently resides in California. The Southern California climate has energized many new exciting techniques and series. September paints in a variety of mediums, always changing her palette and exploring new textures and genres. She continues the tradition of American Impressionism, experimenting with light, color, innovative techniques and her expressive style. She has gained national recognition with exhibitions at the Salmagundi Club, NYC as well as many juried exhibition venues across America. She is a Signature member of the Pastel Society of America, The Pastel Society of the West, Coast, CA, Northwest Pastel Society, an Elected Member of the Allied Artists of America, NY. Her acclaimed pastel and oil paintings have been exhibited throughout the US, Europe and the UK. Her works stimulate the viewer's senses! September won her first art award in the third grade and continues to garnish awards today from prestigious national juried exhibitions. She is a passionate artist whose sensitivities are evident in her portrayal of the human spirit. September's exciting inventive style has collectors worldwide returning year after year. She is also a published author.

Radiating unparalleled energy, her works capture a visual magic, guiding the viewer in with her unorthodox linear movements and ever changing palette. Her layers of rich paint, build a depth and complexity with a three dimensional quality and evoke an emotional response from the viewer. When viewing her works, the hues change in different lights, showcasing the interplay of values and colors within the brushstrokes. Winner of many national juried exhibition awards and honors, and an extensive resume of prestigious juried exhibitions to date; September has built her national reputation as an important American painter. She strives for excellence, lives and paints with passion from soul level, and continually works on expanding her style and oeuvre.
McGee’s award winning works have been published in numerous National Magazines. Her paintings are held in galleries and numerous private and public collections worldwide. Her latest book “LOVE is my Favorite Color” received much acclaim and is currently SOLD OUT!

“I have been creating, in one form or another, since I can remember. I continue to persevere, seeking excellence with novel and unconventional techniques to portray my vision. Over the years it has become easier to allow the viewer to peer into the lens of my soul by virtue of my works. I love meeting people wherever I go and I am drawn to their indomitable spirits, thus, my penchant for figurative works. It is an honor to borrow these intransigent energies as I translate life to art with an impressionistic élan. This energy is a gift that comes through me for which I am forever grateful. Each painting is my gift back."
