This is my second pastel in 2017. I took this photo at the National Art Museum in Washington, DC. I had never seen
this Modigliani before and this painting captured my heart immediately just like the first Modigliani I saw, "The Yellow Sweater". My sister knows I love my Museum series, and that I would be roaming the museum looking for subjects to
paint. She wore her jacket with the faux fur collar, knowing it would be fun to paint...and it was! With a few minor changes I respectfully created this painting in honor of Modigliani. I used a lot of Terry Ludwig pastels
and Senneliers. These are top of the line, rich pastels, that move like butter.
I used a Colourfix Panel as my substrate which has a wonderful grit.
I love this series!
